A calculator is described which at a single setting inter-relates the source strength, gamma dose rate, distance from source, and screening; by lead. Direct reading values are given for the isotopes Nasup 24/, Co/sup 60/, Ra or Rn, Ta/sup 182/, Ir/sup 192/,, Au/sup 198/, I/sup 131/. The Mk. II calcula tor differs from the original only in the revised calibration of Ir/sup 192/ and revised safe dose rates recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection. The calculators are obtainable from the Isotope Information Office, Harwell, England. (auth)
