Safety plan for Australian eclipse operation in June 1974

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4309930
During the sclar eclipse of June 20, 1974, in western Australia, a team of scientists and engineers from the United States plan to launch a rocket-borne solar physics experiment near Lancelin, north of Perth. The purpose is to study the coronal temperature distribution by observing the Lyman-alpha line width, in an investigation that can be usefully conducted above the Earth's atmosphere only during a total solar eclipse. This report details the plans for the project. (auth)
