COMPARISON OF 680 F WATER AND 750 F STEAM AS AN ACCEPTANCE TEST FOR ZIRCALOY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4309340

From these results it is indicited that a statistically significant correlation can be obtained from the results of three-day, 750 deg F steam and fourteen-day, 650 deg F water tests. The results of these two tests show sufficient differences so that they cannot be considered interchangeable. Short- term tests, such as one, three, or fourteen days in 750 deg F steam or fourteen days or less in 680 deg F water can only be expected to detect gross variation in corrosion resistance. (auth)
