Delayed neutron emission from the decay of neutron-rich Rb and Cs isotopes

The delayed-neutron emission probability, P/sub n/, and the half-lives of the new delayed neutron precursors /sup 97/Rb, /sup 98/Rb, /sup 145/Cs, and / sup 146/Cs were measured by using an on-line mass spectrometer. The P/sub n/ values of the known /sup 93-96/Rb were remeasured, and an upper limit was found for the BETA -delayed double-neutron emission probabiltty of /sup 98/Rb. The experimental P/sub n/, values for /sup 92-93/Rb are discussed in a simple semiempirical picture.
