S>The development of mosaic detectors used for the registration of heavy charged particles is discussed. The criteria for the selection of the blank introduced in the composition of the mosaic detector are reported. The detectors developed have the following parameters: a sensitive surface area of about 10 cm/ sup 2/, energy resolution of 130 to 140 keV for alpha particles emitted by /sup 241/Am, and thickness of the sensitive srea of 0.8 to 2 mm.
