The mean multiplicities of fast charged secondaries produced in proton collisions with emulsion nuclei at 69 GeV were measured as a function of N/sub n/ (N/sub n/ is the number of heavily ionizing prongs, and were compared with data at 200 GeV, 6.2 GeV and 21.5 GeV. It is found that the multiplicity ratio at energies 69 and 200 GeV doeB not depend on either the size or the degree of excitation and/or breakup of the target nucleus, in cortrast to lower energies where a strong dependence of this kind is observed. The result implies a specific nuclear multiplicity scaling. (LBS)
