-Wear rates and coefficients of friction were deter mined for material combinations in water at 500 deg F and sliding velocities and at unit bearing loads from 300 to 1500 psi. Nitrided type 304 stainless steel in combination with itself and Stellite 12 are examples of materials showing low wear. (auth)
