The possibility that the hadronic electromagnetic current may have an SU(3) singlet component is investigated in connection with vector meson decays. The asymptotic nonet symmetry is assumed for the first spectral-function sum rule of Weinberg for the vector currents. The second Weinberg spectral-function sum rule is assumed to have been modified with the broken-SU(3) model of GellMann as a guide. (LBS)
