ON THE VIRIAL COEFFICIENTS FOR A LENNARD-JONES GAS

Simpler methods for computing the second and third virial coefficients for a Lennard-Jones gas are given. The second virial coefficient is found to obey a secondorder linear homogeneous differential equation in the temperature. The use of these methods is discussed. (auth)
