The use of catalyst to control environmental emissions has become an area fertile for research and commercial opportunities. Environmental catalysis is used to abate the emissions from processes (stacks and exhausts), develop more benign processes and to actually clean the atmosphere. This paper will concentrate on environmental catalysis and discuss both vehicle and stationary applications. 24 refs.
