STUDIES IN PHOTONUCLEAR REACTIONS. Annual Report. Physics Dept.

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4305145
A new method of precise energy control was developed for the 25-Mev betatron. Short-term stability of better than plus or minus 4 kev and long-term stability better than plus or minus 15 kev were achieved. A paraffin house was constructed for measuring ( gamma ,n) reaction thresholds. The house and its neutron detection system calibration are described. A study of photoneutron thresholds of mono-isotopic and di-isotopic elements was conducted with an estimated accuracy of 50 kev. (D.E.B.)
