It is proven generally that the sum of the damping rates for the three modes of oscillation in an electron synchrotron is given by 2 Vofo/Eo. This result is uscd to calculate an exact damping rate of the radial betatron oscillations for the Cambridge Accclerator of - 1/2 Vofo/Eo (1 - alpha ). (auth)
