THE USE OF CaSO$sub 4$Mn FOR DOSIMETRY

Journal Article · · Doklady Akad. Nauk S.S.S.R.
OSTI ID:4304710
It was esthblished that flashing phosphor CaSO/sub 4/(Mn) makes it possible to record doses from 0.005 to 40 roentgenal within these limits the reserve of the sunlight is proportional to the dose. The advantages of the above phosphor are insensitivity to invisible light and less tendency to hardness than Sr, Sm, and Eu: another advantage is the freedom from need for thermal glow. Its principal shortcoming is the great loss in sunlight with time. (auth)
