Simultaneous removal of SO{sub 2} and NO in a powder-particle fluidized bed

Conference ·
OSTI ID:430440
Experiments for simultaneous removal of SO2 and NO from flue gas were carried out in a laboratory-scale powder-particle fluidized bed reactor of 1.0 m in length above the distributor, 0.053 m inside diameter in a temperature range from 573 to 873 K. In the powder-particle fluidized bed, SO{sub 2} was captured by fine sorbent (CuO{center_dot}V{sub 2}O{sub 5}{center_dot}K{sub 2}SO{sub 4}/Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}) and NO was reduced with NH{sub 3} catalyzed by coarse catalysts (WO{sub 3}/TiO{sub 2} and V{sub 2}O{sub 5}{center_dot}WO{sub 3}/TiO{sub 2}). Experimental results suggested that simultaneous removal of over 90% of SO{sub 2} and NO is possible using the powder-particle fluidized bed reactor. 10 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs.
