Oxide ion conduction in solid solutions Ln{sub 1-x}Sr{sub x}CoO{sub 3-{delta}}(Ln = La, Pr, Nd)

Ln(Sr)CoO{sub 3-{delta}}(Ln = La, Pr, Nd) solid solutions as high-temperature mixed ion and electron conductors are described. Electrical conductivity and oxygen permeability as function of temperature and oxygen partial pressure were measured. A model for the oxygen flow density through the mixed conductor caused by chemical potential gradient is proposed. Values of partial oxide ionic conductivity were calculated. It was found that oxygen permeability decreases in the La > Pr > Nd sequence.
