Analytical chemistry of actinide elements

A general review of the field of analytical chemistry of the actinide elements is presented with special emphasis being given to technically important aspects of nuclear fuel analysis. Classical and instrumental chemical and radiochemical techniques for determination of these elements on the macro and tracer level are briefly discussed and illustrated by some examples, including analysis of trace impurities in actinide samples. Reference is also made to the specific problems arising during practical execution of actinide analysis typical for these elements. which are mainly due to their radioactivity. (auth)
