THE SPECTROGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF MAGNESIUM IN BISMUTH-URANIUM ALLOYS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4299172
The bismuth alloys are converted to oxide and mixed with a spectrographic buffer containing ferric sulfate. Pellets of this mixture are excited in the d-c arc using copper electrodes, and spectra are evaluated by microphotometry using iron as internal standard. The effective concentration range is 50 to 70 ppm. The coefficient of variation for single spectra is 5% at the 300 ppm level. (auth)
