ON THE ELECTRON-PHOTON COMPONENT SPECTRUM IN WIDE ATMOSPHERIC SHOWERS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Eksptl'. i Teoret. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4298950

Experiments were performed at sea level in which 7O% of the wide atmospheric shower passed at 0 to 3 m distance from the Wilson chamber. The number of shower particles was approximately 3 10/sup 4/. Some 343 showers were recorded, and an integral energy spectrum of the electron-photon component was plotted. The results were compared with the previously reported data of I. A. Ivanuvskaya et al. (Zhur. Eksptl'. i Teoret. Fiz. 33. Fiz. 34, 541 (1958)). Descrepancies in the data are analyzed, and some explantions are given. (R.V.J.)
