On the shape of the photopeak in a NaI(Tl) scintillation detector

The shape of the photopeak due to the 822 keV line of /sup 137/Cs was studied using a NaI(Tl) scintillation detector. The higherenergy part of the photopeak is found to be a Gaussian, even at high counting rates.
