PRELIMINARY STUDIES OF ROLLING-CONTACT FATIGUE LIFE OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE BEARING MATERIALS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4296289
S>Preliminarystudies of rolling-contact fatigue life of both races and balls of some promissing high-temperature bearing materials were made at room temperature in the rolling-contact fatigue spin rig. The results may be of assistance in judging the relative potential of bearing steels for use at high temperatures. The followingg materials were investigated: SAE 52100, MHT, TMT, MV-1, Halmo vacuum-melt, and AISI T-1, M-10, M-1, and M-50. (auth)
