MULTIPLEX PULSE-HEIGHT-ANALYZER SYSTEM

Journal Article · · Nucleonics (U.S.) Ceased publication
OSTI ID:4293089

A multiplex pulse-height-analyzer system is described in which a single multichannel analyzer analyzes and a recorder records spectra simultaneously from several detectors. In this system the amplified detector signals are split and part sent to a coder and part to a mixer-amplifier. The mixer-amplifier output is fed to a pulse-height analyzer and thence to a recorder. A simultaneous code signal designates the detector originating the pulse, Where time coincidence is important, time is also recorded. The system was used in discovery of element- 102. (T.R.H.)
