ON THE NATURE OF ARC DISCHARGE IN INERT GASES (in Russian)

The thermal equilibrium of arc discharge plasma in an inert gas atmosphere was investigated. The distribution of excited levels and intensity lines of H, He, and Ne atoms was plotted. The results show that the thermal equilibrium ms not present in the low-current arc column burning between the carbon electrods at normal pressures. (R.N.J.)
