NUCLEAR STEAM GENERATOR WITH MECHANICAL STEAM-WATER SEPARATING PLANT (in German)

Journal Article · · Atompraxis (West Germany) Incorporated in Kerntechnik
OSTI ID:4290765
> The nuclear steam generator consists of a pressure vessel, a diagonal partition passing through the interior of the pressure vessel, a steam outlet, an exterior chamber, and water cooled and moderated fissionable material in a critical arrangement in an inner chamnber. In the vessel a mechanical steam-- water separator is provided which absorbs the water-- steam mixture from the inaer chamber aad delivers the separated steam to the outer chamber. By this operation, the largest power density is obtained which is possible with a boiling reactor with natural circulatlon.
