A description of the pilot plant procedure and results of boron isotopic separation are presented. The isotopic fractionation was carried out in a boron fluoride anisole system, which is a gas liquid, contercurrent exchange process. The system is suitable for production of highpurity boron isotopes. The separation factor, stage height, and decomposition rates are favorable, and operation of the system is relatively simple and economical. Studies indicate that the anisole system is superior to the methyl ether system now in use. (J.R.D.)
