Title: REVIEW OF EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL STUDIES CONCERNING THE AGE OF FISSION NEUTRONS IN HEAVY WATER

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4290126· OSTI ID:4290126

The most reliable experimental value for the age of fission neutrons to indium resonance in 99.8% D/sub 2/O appears to be 109 fate solution a 3 cm/sup 2/. Other work is in close agreement, ranging from 104 to 111 cm/sup 2/. Simple numerical integration calculations fall in this range. Monte: Carlo estimates are likewise in good agreement but the full effects of anisotropic scattering have not yet been included in these calculations. (auth)
