An account is given of how the Isotope Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo has handled the problem of a rapid and continuously expanding radioisotope program in the past, and preseni and future possibilities of the program. A separate building is now under construction which will concentrate all radioisotope applications, providing unique facilities for broad developments in nuclear medicine. (auth)
