POSSIBLE METHOD FOR DETERMINING HYPERON POLARIZATION IN REACTION $pi$ + p $Yields$ Y + K (in Russian)

A possible method is offered for determining the hyperon polarization in pi + p -- ( SIGMA , LAMBDA ) + K and K + p -( SIGMA , LL) + pi reactions. The method includes the measurements of K( pi ) meson asymmetry in reactions with polarized protons. It is shown that the asymmetry, in this case, produces a direct hyperon polarization in reactions with non-polarized protons. (R.V.J.)
