RESEARCH IN NEUTRON-DEFICIENT RARE EARTHS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4280418
A study of neutron-deficient rare earths obtained by 680-Mev proton irradiation of Ta is reponted. The following new isotopes were discovered. Eu/ sup 146/, Gd/sup 146/, Gd/sup 147/, Dy/sup 153/, Dy/sup 155/, Ho/sup 155/, Tm/sup 161/, and Lu/sup 167/ . Mass numbers were established by studying genetic bonds with the aid of multiple extractions of daughter fractions. Decay schemes are given for Gd/sup 146/, Gd/sup 147/, Gd/sup 149/, Gd/sup 151/, sup 160/, Tm/sup 166/, Tm/sup 167/, Tm/sup 168/, Lu/sup 171/, and Lu/sup 173/. (W.D.M.)
