GEOLOGIC INVESTIGATIONS OF RADIOACTIVE DEPOSITS. Semiannual Progress Report for December 1, 1957 to May 31, 1958

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4279962
The Semiannual Reports are confined to accomplishments of the six-months period reported upon, and contained only enough of the work of preceding periods to provide a proper perspective. A considerable number of projects were completed, and final reports are in preparation for Survey publication. The more important results of these completed projects are given. The broad objective of the Geological Survey's program on behalf of the Atomic Energy commission is the investigation of the fundamental geology, mineralogy, and geochemistry of uranium and other radioactive materials, for the purpose of discovering and delimiting areas favorable for the future production of uranium and other radioactive ores. A second and equally important objective of the program is the dissemination of information by the publication, of the results of its investigations. (auth)
