This paper details operating results to date from single and multiple burner ultra low NO{sub x} retrofits of eleven (11) Rapid Mix Burners (RMB{trademark}) with boiler heat inputs from 5 million to 185 million Btu/hr, providing less than 10 ppm NO{sub x} on gas firing, with near zero CO emissions, independent of heat input or furnace heat release rates. Results from RMB retrofits achieving sub-20 ppm NO{sub x} emissions without the use of flue gas recirculation (FGR) will also be discussed. Other applications of RMB technology that are discussed include large, multiple-burner utility boilers that will achieve sub-20 ppm NO{sub x} with high FGR rates or sub-10 ppm NO{sub x} with fuel staging and moderate FGR, as well as a prototype, in-duct version that has achieved 0.015 lb/MMBtu NO{sub x} using turbine exhaust gas for combined cycle applications.
