A gas reburn system to reduce the emissions of oxides of nitrogen has been installed on a 600 MW coal fired boiler, owned and operated by ScottishPower, to demonstrate the economic and technical viability of the technology. The project has been undertaken by ScottishPower and a number of European Partners. This paper describes the process design which was undertaken by the Partners in the project, the design and installation of the equipment and the planned demonstration program.
