A METHOD OF FALLOUT PREDICTION FOR TOWER BURSTS AT THE NEVADA TEST SITE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4275644
A method is presented for predicting fall-out for tower bursts at the Nevada Test Site. The computation is based on maximum energy yield of the device, tower height, cloud height, winds for 5 basic layers and the distance to be travelled in each of the five layers by a falling particle of 120-micron diameter and specific gravity of 2.5. A basic model is presented which is based on data accumulated during the Snapper-Tumbler and UpshotKnothole test series. (C.H.)
