ION EXCHANGE-SPECTROGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF ARSENIC AND PHOSPHORUS IN RIVER WATER

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4274475
An ion exchange --spectrographic method for the determination of trace concentrations of arsenic and phosphorus in river water was developed. Concentrations as low as 0.001 ppm were determined with a precision of plus or minus 0.001 ppm (95% C. L. for a single measurement). One liter of sample was concentrated by anion exchange. Arsenic and phosphorus were eluated with 1 M nitric acid and determined in the eluant by d-c arc excitation using vanadium as the internal standard. (auth)
