Results obtained from the operation of an experimental gaseous diffusion unit for the separation of uranium isotopes using ursnium hexafluoride are presented. The criteria for the selection of various apparatuses for the unit are discussed, and the principal apparatuses chosen are described. The principal difficulties encountered in the set-up and operation of the unit are discussed briefly. (J.S.R.)
