IODINE-131 IN HUMAN THYROIDS AND IODINE-131 AND CAESIUM-137 IN MILK
Following the announement of the Windscite Reactor accident of Oct. 10, 1957, in apparatus was assembled to measure the trace uptake of iodine-131 in human thyroids and the concentration of iodine-131 and cesium-137 in milk. Data are tabulated covering a twomonth period. Where the intake of iodine-131 from milk could be estimated, a close association with the uptake of iodine-131 in the thyroid was observed. (C.H.)
