Heat Removal from Gas Cooled Reactors. Comparison of Different Types of Claddings; EXTRACTION DE LA CHALEUR DES REACTEURS REFROIDIS AU GAZ. COMPARAISON DE DIFFERENTES FORMES DE GAINAGES

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4263504
The cooling of fimed claddings by air was studied in an experimental cbannel outside the pile. The experimenial arrangement is described with emphasis on the simulation of the heating of uranium and on the measurement of surface temperatures. The results obtained from coefficients of friction, Stanton numbers, and the qeality indices are presented in a form which permits an easy comparison of all the results. Claddings with broken longitudinal fins appear to be the best for the cooling of gas-cooled reactors. (tr-auth)
