SCATTERING OF POLARIZED PROTONS BY HELIUM AT 203 MEV AND 96 MEV

Measurements of angular distributions of polarization and absolute cross section for elastic scattering of polarized protons by He/sup 4/ have been taken at the proton energies of (203 sintering time 6) Mev and (96 sintering time 7) Mev. High transparency of the He/sup 4/ nucleus, and strong energy dependence of its radius, are indicated through a semiquantitative discussion of the results in terms of optical model potentials. (auth)
