IMPROVED DESIGN FOR HALOGEN-QUENCHED END-WINDOW GEIGER COUNTERS
An improved designi for halogen-quenched end-window Geiger counters is described in which some of the disadvantages of the conventional end-window counter tube are overcome. The anode in the new design is made spherical or hemispherical. Comparison of the plateau characteristics of the improved counter with the older model demonstrates the improved characteristics.
