The Melusine is a swimming pool reactor with a nominal power of 1.2 Mw and a maximum theoretical flux of 10/sup 13/ thermal neutrons/cm/sup 2//sec. The reactor building, the pool, reactor core, experimental facilities, cooling, water purification, control and measurements, and the safety are briefly considered. (J.S.R.)
