RESONANCE ESCAPE PROBABILITY CALCULATIONS IN NONUNIFORM LATTICE ARRAYS

In actual reactors employing uranium in the form of plates it is necessary to use additional stnactural support material which leads to a nonuniform lattice array of subassemblies or clusters. The thin resonance theory of Stein for an infinite array of fuel plates moderated by water was extended to handle nonuniform arrays of fuel plates, or for that matter any resonance absorber including control rods, typical of that likely to be found in an actual reactor.
