DECAY OF 13-HOUR Re$sup 18$$sup 2$

An electron- and gamma-spectroscopic study of the levels of W/sup 182/ populated by the 13-hour electroncapturing isomer Re/sup 18/ was made. The levels observed support previous studies on the W/sup 182/ levels as observed in Ta/sup 182/ decay. Evidence for weakly populated levels around 2 Mev is reported, which indicates that the decay energy of the isomer is greater than 2 Mev. On the basis of the spins and parities of the levels populateds the isomer is assigned spin 3, negative parity. (auth)
