THE REACTIONS Al$sup 27$(p,p')Al$sup 27$ AND Al$sup 27$(/alpha,p)Si$sup 3$$sup 0$

The reactions Al/sup 27/(p,p')Al/sup 27/ and Al/sup 27/( alpha ,p)Si/sup 30/ were studied at 5 Mev incident energy using a high resolution broad range magnetic spectrograph. Angular distributions of several of the proton groups from each of the reactions were determined and the results suggest that some of the final states are formed by direct processes. The excitations of the first four states of Si/sup 30/ were found to be 2.258 plus or minus 0.006, 3.518 plus or minus 0.007, 3.798 plus or minus 0.009, and 4.85 plus or minus 0.01 Mev. (auth)
