A complexometric titration method for iron and nickel is described. The iron is masked with pyrophosphate, and the nickel is titrated directly with (ethylenediamine)tetraacetic acid (EDTA) in the presence of murexide up to the violot color change. The IF 620 filter is used. The iron is titrated indirectly. An excess of EDTA is added, which destroys the pyrophosphoric complex The excess EDTA is then titrated with a standard solution of nickel nitrate using an IF 465 filter. (tr-auth)
