ON THE DISINTEGRATION OF UNSTABLE SHOCK WAVES IN MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMICS (in Russian)

The fate of an unstable magnetohydrodynnamic shock wave is considered, and it is shown that such a wave must necessarily disintegrate into several waves among which there are fast and slow magnetoacoustic shock and similarity wavess Alfven discontinvities, and a contact discontinuity. lt is significant that disintegration of an unstable shock wave is accompanied by an increase of the entropy. Disintegration of a stable shock wave is impossible. (auth)
