REACTIVITY LIFETIMES OF SLIGHTLY ENRICHED HOMOGENEOUS REACTORS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4244662
Reactivity lifetimes of 12- and l5-foots one-region homogeneous reactors have been calculated as a function of uranium concentration. For both sizes, the maximum lifetime occurs at a U/sup 238/ concentration of 500 gm/l and is 5700 and 6700 Mwd/ton, respectively. If the fission product gases were removed continuouslys these lifetimes increase approximately 50%. (auth)
