KLEIN-NISHINA PHOTON CROSS SECTIONS

Journal Article · · Nuclear Sci. and Eng.
OSTI ID:4244206

As a first step in calculating gamma heating with S/sub n/ transport theory programs, Klein-Nishina photon cross sections for relativistic Compton scattering were computed by FORTRAN Program Gamma. Extensive compilations of Klein-Nishina photon cross sections for straight-ahead'' shielding calculations are available in the literature. However, no previous compilation was found of collision; zeroth, first, and second moment energy-transfer cross sections which were usable for isotropic or nearly isotropic photon scattening calculation in a reactor core.
