A device for separating gases by differential freezing is described. Gas is introduced at the bottom of a cooled container, and a part of it freezes out on the walls to be scraped off by an oscillating scraper. The unfrozen portion passes out the top. An arrangement at the bottom allows reheating and removal of the scrapedoff portion without losing pressurization of the container. This arrangement consists of a series of openings in a plate coupled to the oscillating scraper. (T.R.H.)
