From 0 to 4% UO/sub 2/ may be determined in UF/sub 4/ by a method based on the insolubility of UF/sub 4/ in a solution of di-sodium EDTA. The UO/sub 2/ remains undissolved if boric acid is added to complex the fluoride ion. The UO/ sub 2/ thus separated is determined by spectrophotometry of the U. A precision (3 x standard deviation) of sintering time 10% may be expected. (T.R.H.)
