Ten grams of sample are dissolved in hydrochloric and nitric acids. The solution is diluted and filtered. The filtrate is made up to standard volume and a suitable aliquot withdrawn which is neutralized with ammonia solution and then made slightly acid with hydrochloric acid. This solution is boiled and barium chloride solution added. The barium sulfate is filtered off and finally ignited and weighed. (auth)
