As an introduction, a resume is given of the theoretical considerations which led to the selection of the dimensions. of the high-frequency system. The ideal frequency, ideal amplitude, and acceleration power are considered in this resume. The design and construction of the resonator and oscillator are described in some detail. The auxiliary installations described are the input current, control of the oscillator release, and control and monitoring system. The system has operated for 20 months without interruption. Its operating characteristics are given (J.S.R.)
